Pioneer held to 5 points in first half in loss to Clinton Central

Clinton Central 57, Pioneer 27 (Tuesday): Makenna Strycker scored all eight of her points in the second half, but Clinton Central rolled to a win over Pioneer in the season-opener at The Cage Tuesday.

Mia McKaig added a pair of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter and had six. Freshman guard Lois Layer, who scored five points, was the only other Pioneer player who had multiple field goals.

The loss broke a streak of four consecutive openers won for Pioneer.

Clinton Central (5-0) led 35-5 at halftime.
