Pioneer 6-4, LaVille 0-1 (May 6): The Pioneer baseball team swept a doubleheader against conference and sectional rival LaVille at Pioneer on May 6. They won the first game 6-0 and the second game 4-1 in nine innings.
Brayden Erickson and Jake Erickson pitched a combined no-hitter in Game 1. Brayden Erickson struck out eight over the first five innings, and Jake Erciskon walked one and struck out two over the final two innings.
They combined to face 23 batters, two over the minimum.
The Ericksons also starred at the plate. Brayden Erickson singled and homered and had two RBIs, and Jake Erickson went 1 for 3 and also had two RBIs. Caleb Sweet singled, doubled and had an RBI, and Andrew Helton also had an RBI.
Derek Duncan and Eli Miller also had singles.
Pioneer scored three runs in the first inning and two more in the second to jump out to a 5-0 lead.
Pioneer scored three runs in the ninth inning of Game 2 to complete the sweep. Noah MIller had two singles and two RBIs, and Drew McKaig also had two hits and an RBI. Eli Miller had a hit and an RBI. Owen Miller, Brayden Erickson and Sweet each had a double.
Pioneer outhit LaVille 10-2.
Noah Miller got the win by pitching two-hit ball over eight innings. The only run he allowed was unearned. He walked four and struck out 10.
Peyton Schnurpel pitched a hitless seventh for the save.
Pioneer was the home team in the first game and the visiting team in the second game.

Pioneer 16, North Judson 6 (May 11): Derek Duncan had three hits and three RBIs, and Drew McKaig, Eli Miller and Jake Erickson had two RBIs each for Pioneer in a Hoosier North road win over North Judson in the first game of a two-game series on May 11.
Brayden Erickson doubled and singled twice and drove in a run, and Noah Miller also had three hits. Brian Gluth had two hits. Peyton Schnurpel scored three runs.
Brayden Erickson also got the win on the mound, allowing 11 hits and four earned runs. He walked one and struck out seven.
Pioneer scored seven runs in the top of the first inning, knocking out Blue Jay starter Caleb Ginder, and never trailed.

Lafayette Central Catholic 3, Pioneer 2 (May 13): Brian Gluth and Caleb Sweet each had two hits, and each drove in a run in Pioneer’s two-run sixth, but Lafayette Central Catholic scored in the bottom of the seventh to earn a walk-off win on May 13.
Peyton Schnurpel also had a hit and scored a run.
Schnurpel also pitched a seven-hitter on the mound. He allowed three runs (two earned) while walking two and striking out three.

Winamac 8, Pioneer 2 (May 15): Jake Erickson had two hits, and Brayden Erickson singled and had an RBI for Pioneer in a Hoosier North road loss to Winamac on May 15.
Noah Miller also had an RBI for the Panthers. Drew McKaig also had a hit.
Jake Erickson took the loss on the mound, allowing four hits and seven runs in 4 ⅓ innings. He walked three and struck out three. Caleb Sweet relieved and allowed an unearned run in 1 ⅔ innings. He allowed two hits and a walk and fanned five.
Five of Winamac’s runs were unearned.
Already leading 2-1, Winamac scored five runs in the fifth to pull away.
Max Gearhart pitched a four-hitter with one walk and three strikeouts. Both Pioneer runs were unearned.

Pioneer 10, Winamac 0 (5 innings, May 16): Brayden Erickson homered and drove in three runs, and he also pitched a two-hit shutout with eight strikeouts for the host Panthers in a Hoosier North home rout of Winamac May 16.
Caleb Sweet singled and doubled and had three RBIs, and Derek Duncan also had two hits and an RBI. Eli Miller also hit a solo homer.
Drew McKaig and Peyton Schnurpel had RBIs. Noah Miller had a pair of singles. Brenton Gaumer had a single.
Erickson walked none and faced 17 batters, just two over the minimum.
Pioneer and Winamac split their two-game series. Winamac won at home 8-2 on May 15.

Culver Academy 20, Pioneer 2 (5 innings, May 18): Eli Miller had two hits and an RBI, and Brenton Gaumer had a single and an RBI, but the visiting Eagles stormed out to a 13-2 lead after two innings and rolled to the win on May 18.
Brian Gluth, Caleb Sweet and Jake Erickson each added a hit.
Peyton Schnurpel took the loss on the mound, allowing 13 runs in two innings. He allowed eight hits and five walks while striking out one. Michael Cearing followed and pitched two innings and allowed seven hits and seven runs. He walked two and struck out one. Andrew Helton retired all three batters he faced in the fifth.
Five of Culver Academy’s runs were unearned due to Pioneer errors.

Brayden Erickson and Derek Duncan each had a single and an RBI, and Brian Gluth had two hits, but the Pioneer baseball team lost to host Frontier on May 20 despite outhitting the Falcons 9-3.
Andrew Helton, Brenton Gaumer, Caleb Sweet, Drew McKaig and Owen Miller each had a single.
