Brooke named Hoosier North MVP, joins 3 other Lady Panthers on all-conference team

Volleyball
The Pioneer volleyball team won the Class 1A Culver Saturday, beating Lakewood Park in the semifinals and Kouts in the final.
Pioneer rallied to beat Lakewood Park 17-25, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 15-12. Pioneer trailed 12-9 in the fifth game before scoring the final six points.
Pioneer then beat Kouts 25-14, 25-17, 25-18 in the regional final.
Kouts had beaten Triton 25-13, 25-21, 25-22 earlier Saturday in the semifinals.
No. 3 Pioneer will play No. 4 Cowan in the semistate at Lafayette Jeff at 1 p.m. this Saturday in the semistate. The semistate was originally scheduled for Frankfort before being moved.
Cowan beat South Newton and Seton Catholic to win the regional at Maconaquah Saturday.
Loogootee will play Hauser in the south semistate, and the winners will meet at Warthen Arena in Muncie for the state title on Nov. 7.
All-Hoosier North team
Pioneer setter Olivia Brooke has been named Hoosier North MVP in voting done by the conference’s coaches and released to the media.
Teammates Madison Blickenstaff, Mackenzie Walker and Hailey Cripe joined her on the all-conference team. Mackenzie Robinson was named honorable mention all-Hoosier North.
Pioneer went 7-0 in conference play.
