Pioneer takes 9th at season-opening Triton tourney

Boys golf

The Pioneer boys golf team shot a 454 and finished ninth in a 10-team field at the Triton Early Bird Invitational at Rozella Ford Golf Club in Warsaw Saturday.

Warsaw won the tournament with a 340. Triton fired a 342 and took second.

Warsaw’s Aidan Bowell shot a 73 to take medalist honors.

Baseball

North White 6-3, Pioneer 5-13 (Saturday): Pioneer and host North White split a doubleheader Saturday. North White scored four in the bottom of the seventh to win the first game 6-5.

Pioneer trounced the Vikings 13-3 in Game 2.

Pioneer is 2-2 going into their home game against Rochester at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
