Barcus adds 11, but Lady Dragons finish 10-13

Girls basketball
Triton 44, Argos 37 (Friday): Samantha Redinger scored 12 points, and Morgyn Barcus added 11, but the Argos girls basketball team fell to Triton 44-37 in a Class 1A, Sectional 50 semifinal at Culver Friday.
Redinger’s 12 points were a season low. She came into the sectional leading the state averaging 31.3 ppg, and she scored 34 in a 47-43 win over Westville in the quarterfinals Wednesday.
Barcus hit three of Argos’ five 3-pointers. Alydiah Leed hit the other two and had six. Ellie Bollenbacher also had six points.
Redinger also had a team-high seven rebounds.
Aleasia Sarver played in a reserve role for Argos after missing the Westville game with a mild concussion. She had two points and three rebounds.
Argos finished 10-13. They had won seven consecutive sectional games and two consecutive sectional titles prior to Friday.
Addyson Viers had 24 points and nine rebounds for Triton, who improved to 11-13 and will meet No. 5 Marquette Catholic in the sectional final at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Marquette Catholic knocked out Oregon-Davis 66-44 in the other semifinal.
Viers made all eight of her free throw attempts, and Triton made 12 of 14 as a team.
Triton also beat Argos 46-32 on Nov. 7 in their regular season meeting.
The teams have split six sectional games against each other over the past decade.
