Prater adds 10, but Peru rallies from 7-point halftime deficit

Peru 72, Rochester 64 (Friday): Tanner Reinartz hit five 3-pointers and scored 19 points to lead three players in double figures, but the Rochester boys basketball team lost to host Peru at Tig-Arena Friday.

Jonas Kiser added 14, and Owen Prater had 10 for Rochester, who lost their fifth straight game and dropped to 8-11 overall and 4-4 in the Three Rivers Conference.

Only one of the losses in the losing streak have been by a double-digit margin.

Gavin Eldridge hit three 3-pointers and all eight of his free throws and scored a game-high 21 points for Peru. Matt Roettger added 20, Alex Ross had 15, and Xavier Turner had 10 for the Tigers, who improved to 12-9, 5-3.

Peru made 17 of 24 free throws while Rochester was 4 for 6.

Rochester led 24-20 at halftime and extended the lead to 38-31 after three quarters.

Dylan Hook, Owen Prater and Jonas Kiser all fouled out for Rochester. Bryce Baugher missed the game due to being in concussion protocol.

Rochester is 0-10 in their last 10 games at Peru, though only two of the losses have been by a double-figure margin. They have not won at Tig-Arena since Feb. 15, 2002.
