Rochester 5, Peru 0 (Monday): Bria Rensberger pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts, and Darah Strasser and Aubrey Wilson had two RBIs each for the Rochester softball team in a Three Rivers Conference road win over Peru Monday.
Rochester improved to 9-9 overall and 4-2 in the Three Rivers Conference. The Lady Tigers fell to 12-8, 2-4.
Rochester avenged a 6-3 loss to Peru at the Jimtown tournament on April 27.
Aubrey Miller contributed three of Rochester’s seven hits, including two singles and a double. She also had a sacrifice fly in the sixth.
Strasser had a two-run triple as part of Rochester’s three-run fourth inning, and Wilson knocked her in with an RBI single.
Jadyn Field also had a single.
Peru had only three baserunners. Alilyanah Johnson walked with two outs in the second, and Lilly Steele reached on an error with two outs in the sixth.
Kyannah Correll doubled for Peru’s first hit to lead off the seventh, but Rensberger got Bailee Kintner on a fly out to Strasser in center and Molly Mann on a groundout to Wilson at short before striking out Trinity Brock to end the game.
Rochester struck first in the first when Wilson scored all the way from first on a fielder’s choice and an error on a ball hit by Miller.
