Jason Breden has resigned as the boys basketball coach and athletic director at Argos to become the new boys basketball coach at Knox, according to multiple reports.

Argos went 42-27 in Breden’s three seasons as coach.

He is a 2016 LaVille grad who played collegiately at IU South Bend.

Breden had also been Argos’ athletic director for two years.

Breden would replace Joe Eskridge at Knox. Knox went 19-26 in two seasons under Eskridge.

The hire is pending approval from the Knox School Board.

Tony Ross of radio station Max 98.3 was the first to report.

Knox is a member of the newly formed Indiana Northern State Conference, which begins play in 2024-25. That will put them in the same conference with Tippecanoe Valley.

Knox is in Class 2A, Sectional 34 for the next two-year cycle, which puts them in a sectional with Winamac.

Argos already made a change at its girls basketball coaching position this spring when Brian Jennings was hired on April 15.
