Heishman’s 80 helps Zebras take 10th, Winamac finishes 16th

The Pioneer boys golf team shot a 346 and finished fifth out of 16 teams at the Rochester Invitational at Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek Saturday.
Other area teams in the tournament included Rochester, who shot a 358 and finished 10th, and Winamac, who shot a 443 and placed 16th.
Pioneer’s low scorer was junior Ivan Reyes, who shot a 73 and finished second among 80 individuals. Other Pioneer scores included Micah Rans, who shot an 85; Dane Bowditch, who shot an 89; and Brady Price and Noah VanMeter, each of whom shot a 99.
Junior Isaac Heishman carded an 80 to lead Rochester and place seventh overall. Senior Ashton Musselman shot an 83, Parker Brown had a 97, and Jack Reffett and Brevin Nicholson each had a 98.
Winamac’s low scorer was Logan Fredel with a 97. good for a tie for 55th place. Other Winamac scores included Tyler Rainford’s 102, Rylan Craig’s 119, Parker Zeider’s 125 and Justin Potthoff’s 127.
Logansport won the tournament with a 321. Culver Academy was second with a 327.
Chesterton’s Jake Bobin was the medalist with a 72.
Logansport is a sectional rival of Rochester, Pioneer and Winamac.
