Rochester 10, Pioneer 2 (6 innings, Thursday): Tanner Reinartz had three hits and an RBI, and Parker Casper allowed one run over five innings for the visiting Zebras in a win over Pioneer Thursday.

Brant Beck, Conner Dunfee and Drew Bowers each had two hits and an RBI as part of Rochester’s 10-hit attack. Casper contributed a double and an RBI. Brady Coleman walked twice.

Rochester also drew six walks and took advantage of five Pioneer errors.

Casper allowed two hits and four walks while striking out six. Dunfee relieved in the sixth and allowed two hits and a run while walking one and fanning one.

Freshman Jayson Layman pitched five innings and allowed 10 hits and seven runs (six earned). He walked one and struck out two. Archie Blickenstaff relieved and pitched one inning and allowed no hits and three runs (all earned) while walking five and striking out one.

Noah Miller singled, walked twice and scored both Pioneer runs. Jason Gluth, Lane Weldy and Blake Rogers each had a single. Dawson Eggers walked twice.

The game was shortened to six innings due to darkness.

Rochester scored two runs in the top of the third on Casper’s RBI double and Reinartz’s RBI single to take a 2-0 lead. They tacked on three more in the fourth.

Rochester 5, Plymouth 4 (Tuesday)

Drew Bowers had a double and two RBIs as part of a five-run second inning, and Tanner Reinartz pitched a 1-2-3 seventh with two strikeouts to save the win for Brady Coleman for the Zebras in a win over Plymouth at Bob Copeland Field Tuesday.

Casper had a single and an RBI, and Linden Wilburn had a single for the Class 2A, No. 3 Zebras, who improved to 7-0.

Coleman pitched the first four innings and allowed four hits and three runs (all earned). He walked one and fanned five. Casper pitched two innings and allowed one unearned run. He yielded a hit and a walk and struck out one.

Reinartz struck out Preston Wolfe on three straight fastballs, struck out Drake Feece and got Parker Wolfe on a foul pop to the catcher to end the game.

Casper and Reinartz combined to retire the final eight Plymouth batters.

Plymouth committed three errors, and all five Rochester runs were unearned.

Preston Wolfe pitched a three-hitter with two walks and seven strikeouts but suffered the loss.

Parker Wolfe had two hits and an RBI.

Plymouth took a 2-0 lead in the first on RBI singles from Parker Wolfe and Nick Manzuk.

Bowers’ two-out, two-run double tied it, and when Coleman followed by reaching on an error, two more runs scored to give Rochester a 4-2 lead. Casper followed with an RBI single to make it 5-2.

Austin Price’s two-out RBI single in the fourth off Coleman cut the lead to 5-3.
