The Rochester baseball team will open the season with a three-way doubleheader against Madison and Jeffersonville on Saturday.
The first game will start at 10 a.m. at Madison.
Rochester is coming off a 20-7 season in 2023. They won the Three Rivers Conference with a 9-0 record. The season ended with a 6-2 loss to Bremen in the Class 2A, Sectional 36 final.
The most experienced players expected to return from last year include seniors Colton Ferverda, Jake Seuferer and Gavin Young, junior Tanner Reinartz and sophomore Carson Paulik.
Rochester also will play John Glenn on the road Tuesday and will play three games in two days at the Howard County Invitational on April 5-6 before another road game against Plymouth on April 9.
The home opener is against Pioneer on April 11.
Rochester-Whitko JV canceled: The Rochester-Whitko JV baseball game scheduled for May 14 has been canceled.
