Rochester boys tennis falls to Triton in home opener

Boys tennis

Triton 5, Rochester 0 (Thursday): Camden Zink, Griffin Newton and Cash Casper lost in straight sets at singles. Logan Fuller and Jesse Smith lost in straight sets at No. 1 doubles, and Luke Gottschalk and Ayden Smith lost in straight sets at No. 2 doubles.

Newton and Casper, both freshmen, were making their singles debuts after both played doubles against Tippecanoe Valley Tuesday.

Fuller and Jesse Smith moved from singles to doubles. Gottschalk moved from No. 1 doubles to No. 2 doubles to pair with Ayden Smith.

Zink wins set, but Rocheter falls at home to Twin Lakes

Boys tennis

Twin Lakes 5, Rochester 0 (Monday): Camden Zink lost a three-set marathon at No. 1 singles for the Zebras in a home loss to Twin Lakes Monday.

Zink lost the first set 7-5 before winning the second 6-4. He lost 6-4 in the third set.

Rochester lost the other four matches in straight sets. Griffin Newton and Cash Casper lost at Nos. 2 and 3 singles, respectively.

Logan Fuller and Jesse Smith lost at No. 1 doubles, and Luke Gottschalk and Ayden Smith lost at No. 2 doubles. Rochester won five games in the doubles matches combined.

Rochester is 1-5.

The JV match ended in a 1-1 tie.

Camden Zink (RHS) lost 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.

Griffin Newton (RHS) lost 6-1, 6-1.
