Rochester falls to defending sectional champion Northwestern

Northwestern 7, Rochester 3 (Thursday): Grant Bailey, Jonas Kiser and Taya Tindi each scored a goal for host Rochester in a Three Rivers Conference home loss to Northwestern at the Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex Thursday.

Elliot Miller stopped four of the nine shots he faced in goal. One of Northwestern’s goals came on a penalty kick.

Grant Reese stopped two of the three shots he faced in goal.

Rochester dropped to 2-6-1, 1-2. Northwestern is 5-2-1, 3-0.

Northwestern and Peru (1-0) are the only remaining undefeated teams in TRC play.

Rochester could meet Northwestern again in Class 2A, Sectional 22 at Wabash from Oct. 6-11.

Northwestern is the defending sectional champion.
