Rochester senior Grant Clark has committed to continue his football and academic careers at the University of Indianapolis, according to a social media post. Clark was a first-team all-Three Rivers Conference defensive end and also played tight end for the Zebras. UIndy is an NCAA Division II school. The Greyhounds went 11-2 last year and won the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
Larry “Bud” Wright’s first game as the new football coach at Southwood will be at Barnhart Field against Rochester Aug. 21. The Metropolitan School District of Wabash County school board approved the hiring of Wright, 85, at a meeting Tuesday. Wright is the winningest coach in IHSAA history with 463, and he also won nine state championships during a 59-year run at Sheridan from 1966-2024. Wright spent the 2025 season as an assistant coach at North Miami. The game will also be Isaac Shaffer’s first game as Rochester’s coach. RTC first reported the hiring of Wright Wednesday night, and Wright later confirmed the hiring to The Indianapolis Star.
