Rochester loses rain-shortened match to Triton

Girls tennis
Triton 3, Rochester 0 (Thursday): The Rochester girls tennis team lost a rain-shortened road match to Triton Thursday.
Rochester’s Ellie Straeter lost in three sets at No. 2 singles. No. 1 doubles team J.J. Graber and Abriella St. Martin and No. 2 doubles team Hailey Crissinger and Savannah Wolters lost by identical 6-2, 6-0 scores.
The matches at No. 1 and No. 3 singles involving Rochester’s Olivia Bailey and Emma Murphy, respectively, were both in the third set when the rains arrived.
Triton also won the JV match 1-0.
“Since the nonconference match had already been decided, we felt comfortable calling the match where we left it,” Rochester coach Jesse Atkinson said in a statement.
Rochester is 5-6. They travel to Wabash Monday.
