Rochester’s Gard qualifies for frosh-soph state championships

Rochester freshman wrestler Declan Gard has qualified for the Freshman-Sophomore State Championships after going 5-2 and finishing fourth in his weight class at the Freshman-Sophmore State Qualifier at Hobart High School Sunday.

Other Rochester wrestlers participating included Zyler Baughman, Brantlyn Brady and Mason Hisey, all of whom “competed well,” according to coach Clint Gard.

In addition, freshman Matt Crosslan finished one match from qualifying for the state championships.
