The Rochester boys golf team shot a 340 and finished fifth in the 16-team field at the Logansport Invitational at Dykeman Park Golf Course Saturday.
Among other area teams, Pioneer was ninth with a 355, Caston was 12th with a 377, and Winamac was 15th with a 412.
Western won the title with a 306. Logansport was second with a 328.
The field included seven schools that will compete at the Logansport sectional at Dykeman Park June 6, including Rochester, Pioneer, Caston and Winamac.
Isaac Heishman led Rochester with a 78, Ashton Musselman had an 81, Davis Renie fired an 83, Brady Morgan had a 98, and Jack Reffett carded a 103.
Heishman birdied the par-3 ninth hole while Musselman birdied Nos. 7 and 13, both of which are par-5s.
Pioneer’s Ivan Reyes had a 78, Micah Rans had an 86, Brady Price had a 94, Cole Franklin had a 97, and Tayt Smith notched a 103.
Reyes had Pioneer’s only birdie on the day when he birdied the seventh hole.
Owen Chapman was the low Caston scorer with a 90, Max Sommers and Gage Thomas each had a 92, Luke Graham had a 103, and Brayden Unger had a 113.
Sommers also birdied No. 7.
Winamac’s low scorer was Logan Fredel with a 93, Brendan Hines had a 94, Will Biros had a 107, Parker Zeider had a 118, and Rylan Craig had a 120.
Western’s Callen Szerdy was the medalist with a 72.
