Rochester’s Reinartz, Caston’s Herd named first-team All-State

Caston’s Harness, Mollenkopf brothers earn honorable mention

Baseball

The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association has named Rochester’s Tanner Reinartz its first-team Class 2A All-State third baseman and Caston’s Noah Herd its first-team Class 1A All-State first baseman.

A 2025 Rochester grad and a Huntington University signee, Reinartz hit .515 with seven homers and 32 RBIs. He added a .593 on-base percentage and a .924 slugging percentage.

He led the team in both hits (34) and walks (19) for a Zebra team that went 19-8 overall and 7-2 in the Three Rivers Conference. The Zebras tied Northwestern for the TRC title.

Reinartz’s future college teammate at Huntington, Max Engle, also made the first team.

As for Herd, he hit .395 with two homers and 29 RBIs. Nine of his 30 hits went for extra bases, and he had a 1.099 OPS.

Carson Harness Gavin Mollenkopf Logan Mollenkopf


Three other Caston players – Carson Harness, Gavin Mollenkopf and Logan Mollenkopf – earned honorable mention status.

Harness, a sophomore, went 8-2 with a 1.93 ERA on the mound. He allowed 39 hits and 16 earned runs in a team-high 58 innings while walking 31 and striking out 82. He also had a .429 on-base percentage at the plate.

Gavin Mollenkopf, a junior catcher, hit .279 with 27 RBIs at the plate. He also walked 25 times and was hit by 12 pitches for a .519 on-base percentage. He had a .916 OPS.

Logan Mollenkopf, a freshman center fielder-pitcher, hit .397 with 16 RBIs. He also walked 30 times and was hit by two pitches for a .573 on-base percentage, and he finished with a 1.047 OPS out of the leadoff spot in the batting order.

Tri-County left-hander Grayson Schneider also made the first team as a pitcher. Schneider pitched a shutout against Caston in the Class 1A, Sectional 50 final.
