Girls soccer ties Oak Hill; boys tennis vs. Manchester suspended

Boys soccer
Manchester 4, Rochester 1 (Tuesday): The Zebras lost a road game to conference and sectional rival Manchester Tuesday.
Manchester led 3-0 at halftime.
Rochester lost their third straight game to fall to 3-4 overall and 0-2 in the Three Rivers Conference.
Winamac 5, Rochester 2 (Saturday): Layne Backus had a goal and an assist, and Mitchell Shafer also scored for the host Zebras in a loss to Winamac at the Brent Blacketor Memorial Sports Complex Saturday.
Parker Wallace stopped four of nine shots he saw in goal.
Alex Stark and Thomas Fierens scored two goals each for Winamac. Andrew Cardenas scored once. Fierens also had two assists, and Jacob Housinger had a helper.
Max Murray stopped three of five shots.
Girls soccer
Rochester 1, Oak Hill 1 (Tuesday): Emma Howdeshell scored the lone Rochester goal in a tie with Oak Hill Tuesday. The game was stopped in the second half due to lightning and will not be finished.
Nikki Alston scored in the first half for Oak Hill.
Rochester travels to Marion at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Girls golf
Plymouth 182, Rochester 200, Bremen (incomplete team) (Wednesday): Payton Moore shot a 43 on the back nine at Round Barn Golf Club at Mill Creek to share medalist honors, but the Lady Zs fell to sectional rival Plymouth as part of a three-way match with Bremen Wednesday.
Ava Thomas added a 45, Delaney Barkman had a 55, Reagan Becker had a 57, and Avery Brouyette had a 58 for Rochester.
Moore parred the par-3 10th hole and the par-4 15th hole.
Plymouth’s Hannah LaFree also shot a 43.
Savanah Eccles had a 62, and Emma Bays had a 64 for the RHS JV.

Logansport 184, Rochester 202 (Tuesday): Ava Thomas carded a 43 to lead Rochester in a loss over the front nine against the Lady Berries at Dykeman Park Golf Course Tuesday.
Payton Moore had a 46, Delaney Barkman had a 54, Reagan Becker had a 59, and Avery Brouyette had a 60.
Thomas’ round included three pars. Thomas parred the par-3 ninth hole; her four teammates all triple-bogeyed the hole.
Logansport’s Reiss Weaver was the medalist with a 42.

Boys tennis
Rochester at Manchester, suspended: The Rochester-Manchester boys tennis dual that began on Monday was suspended due to lightning. The match will be resumed at Manchester on Sept. 16.
