Haselby wins diving, teams with 3 others to win 400 free relay, but girls lose

The Rochester boys swimming team swept all 12 events en route to a 109-50 win over host Manchester on Dec. 7.
Meanwhile, freshman Kylie Haselby won diving and swam a leg on the victorious 400 freestyle relay, but the Lady Zs lost 122-48.
In the boys meet, Tanner Reese, Jake Seuferer and Wes Steininger won two individual events each.
Reese won the 200 freestyle in 2:03.38 and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.01. Seuferer won the 100 freestyle in 53.07, beating the field by 12 seconds, and also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.96. Steininger captured the 200 individual medley in 2:24.73 and the 100 backstroke 1:07.69, beating the field by 11 seconds.
Seuferer, Steininger and Reese also combined with Spencer Backus to win the 200 medley relay in 1:54.95 and with Reece Johnson to win the 400 freestyle relay in 3:49.79.
Backus and Johnson joined Noah Riffle and Lane Shank to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:46.47.
Other individual Rochester winners included Backus, who led a 1-2-3 Rochester finish in the 50 freestyle; Peyton Brooks, who was the only boys diver competing for either school; and Johnson, who swam unopposed in the 500 freestyle.
Haselby scored 122.25 points over six dives, and she also took second in the 100 backstroke.
Her teammates on the winning relay included Ava Thomas, Skyla Mitchell and Seanna Gudas.
Mitchell and Aubrey Miller took second and third, respectively, in the 500 freestyle.
