South Central (Union Mills) 40, Caston 6 (Friday): Kyle Roudebush ran for a team-high 50 yards, and he scored Caston’s only touchdown in the fourth quarter, but the Comets fell to host South Central in a Class 1A, Sectional 41 quarterfinal Friday.
Landon Shafer completed five of 17 passes for 134 yards, and he also had seven carries for 13 yards. Josh Sullivan had three receptions for 111 yards.
Sam Smith had seven carries for eight yards and two receptions for 23 yards in his final prep game. He also had five tackles on defense.
Grant Hickle had 12 carries for 47 yards, and he also had a team-high 11 tackles and a sack on defense.
Quinlan Kelly had seven tackles on defense. Garrison Hickle had six tackles, Evan Howard had five tackles, Shafer had four tackles, Caydin Webb had four tackles, Sullivan had four tackles, and Roudebush, Dylan Gearhart and Grant Yadon had two tackles each.
Yadon also had an interception.
Cain Schanlaub and Levi Martin had one tackle each.
Aaron Hogan ran 17 times for 223 yards and four touchdowns for South Central. Tony Guevara ran for 77 yards and a score and also caught a 30-yard touchdown pass.
South Central had a 309-118 advantage in rushing yards.
South Central led 26-0 at halftime.
Caston finished 2-8. South Central improved to 5-3 and will travel to Culver at 7:30 p.m. this Friday in a semifinal.
