Rude hits for the cycle, has 7 RBIs in Caston rout of O-D

Caston 24, Oregon-Davis 3 (5 innings, Thursday): Myli Rude hit for the cycle and drove in seven runs, and Kylee Logan went 3 for 3 with a double, two singles, two walks and four RBIs as the Lady Comets routed host Oregon-Davis Thursday.

Hadlie Coffing tripled, walked three times and had three RBIs. Ava Russell, Alex Mersch, Ashtyn Bailey and Abigail Apperson added one hit each.

Caston batters also walked 23 times and did not strike out.

Natalie Warner pitched four innings for the win. She allowed one hit and no earned runs while walking three and striking out 10.

Avery Baldwin pitched a scoreless fifth, allowing no hits and walking two.

Rude doubled to lead off the game and later added a three-run triple later in the first and then scored on an error on the same play to highlight a nine-run inning. She singled in the second. In the fourth, she hit a three-run homer.

Caston improved to 2-10 overall and 1-3 in the Hoosier North.
