Caston 2, North Miami 0 (Wednesday): Simon McGrew and Mack Mappin each had a goal and an assist in the second half as Caston broke free from a scoreless tie at halftime and beat North Miami in a Class 1A, Sectional 36 semifinal at Argos Wednesday.
Kaemen Lee added 16 saves in goal for the shutout.
“Just a fantastic effort by the Comets tonight coupled with the best soccer they have played all year,” Caston first-year coach Trey Young said in a statement. “Very proud of the way they battled and handled themselves tonight.”
Caston snapped a four-game losing streak and improved to 4-11-1. Two of their wins are against North Miami, who finished 2-15. North Miami did not score in three consecutive games to close out the season.
