Scales homers twice, Zimpleman, Logan, Harsh also homer for Caston in win over West Central

Caston 10, West Central 4 (Monday): Addison Zimpleman pitched four scoreless innings of relief for the win and also homered, and Isabel Scales hit a pair of solo homers for the visiting Caston softball team in a win over Class 1A, No. 4 West Central Monday.

Kylee Logan homered and drove in two runs on her birthday, and Annie Harsh also homered for Caston.

Kinzie Mollenkopf had two singles and two RBIs. Harsh also singled and doubled. Macee Hinderlider had two singles. Zimpleman also had a double.

Mollenkopf started and pitched three innings and allowed seven hits and four runs. She walked two and struck out six. Zimpleman allowed two hits and no walks while striking out 10.

Annika Smith homered twice and drove in three runs for West Central.

Caston scored three runs in the top of the fifth to break a 4-4 tie. They added two more in the sixth and one in the seventh.

The teams could meet again in the sectional at North Miami from May 22-27.
