Caston 42, Culver 39 (Jan. 6): Cain Schanlaub scored 10 points, and Talon Zeider hit a

pair of 3-pointers in the third quarter as the Caston boys basketball team claimed a Hoosier North road win over Culver at John R. Nelson Gymnasium on Jan. 6.
Caleb Stinson added nine points for Caston (3-6, 1-1 Hoosier North), and Zeider had eight. Colby Pugh also hit a pair of 3-pointers for six, and Jackson Rentschler scored all five of his points in the second half.
Emiliano Ortiz and Shane Shuman had 11 points each for Culver, who dropped to 5-5, 2-1.
Caston jumped out to a 14-2 lead after one quarter before Culver rallied to within 18-16 at halftime. With help from Zeider’s treys, Caston extended their lead to 29-22 after three quarters.
Caston made more free throws (7) than Culver attempted (6).
Caston beat Culver for the fifth straight year.
