Secrest receives Crossroads League honors

Women’s college basketball

Indiana Wesleyan senior forward Anne Secrest has been named first-team All-Crossroads League.

Secrest led Indiana Wesleyan in scoring (14.4 points per game) and rebounding (6.5 per game). She shot 93 percent (70-75) from the foul line. She had a season-high 28 points in a game against Madonna on Nov. 3.

She scored in double figures 24 times and also had three double-figure rebounding games for the Wildcats.

She also led Indiana Wesleyan to the conference tournament championship, including an 11-point game in Indiana Wesleyan’s 77-67 win over Marian in the championship game Monday.

Secrest is a 2017 Tippecanoe Valley grad and a Claypool native.

Middle school wrestling

TVMS falls to Rochester, Western: The Valley Middle School wrestling team lost duals to Rochester and Western as part of a three-way dual.

Jaxtyn Virgil, Remington Rickel and Adin Wagoner won three matches each for TVMS. Joseph Lybarger, Denver Wilson and Parker Adamson won two matches each.

Thad Shambaugh, Jordan Lybarger, Colton Crabb, Brock Derf and Enrrique Montileaux won one match each.

Lybarger wins 4 times vs. Peru, Wabash: TVMS wrestler Jordan Lybarger went 4-0 during a three-way dual against Peru and Wabash Wednesday.

Team scores were not kept.
