Stiles homers, drives in 7 as Valley softball wins TRC opener

Tippecanoe Valley 20, Wabash 1 (5 innings, Wednesday): Corinna Stiles went 4 for 4 with three singles, a homer and seven RBIs, and Dalynne Bussard tossed a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts for the Valley softball team as they began Three Rivers Conference play with a home win over Wabash Wednesday.
Freshman Kahlyn Manns singled twice, tripled and had four RBIs, and Madi Smith and Mackaylie Costello each singled and drove in two.
Maddie Thompson and Anna Shock each had a hit and an RBI. Brittany Benn had two hits.
Valley had 15 hits, drew eight walks and took advantage of four Wabash errors.
Bussard did not walk a batter. The only run she allowed was unearned.
Valley scored 12 times in the bottom of the third to build a 16-0 lead.
Valley won their sixth straight game. They have outscored their opponents 75-13 over that span.
