Boys basketball
Caston 60, Pioneer 54 (Saturday): Caleb Stinson scored eight of his game-high 19 points in the fourth quarter, and Cain Schanlaub added 18 to lead the Caston boys basketball team past host Pioneer Saturday.
Colby Pugh made a pair of free throws in the fourth quarter and added 12 for Caston, who trailed 39-37 going into the fourth quarter.
Caston improved to 7-12 overall and 2-4 in the Hoosier North. Pioneer dropped to 3-17, 0-6.
Caston beat Pioneer for the second time this season. They also won 52-36 in the Cass County Invitational third-place game on Dec. 2 at Logansport. It also marked their first road win over Pioneer since Jan. 28, 2005.
Drew McKaig scored 17 to lead Pioneer. Caleb Sweet added 16, and Brayden Erickson hit four 3-pointers and had 14.
Pioneer lost their third straight game.
The game was tied 32-32 at halftime.
