Strycker scores 9, but Pioneer drops Hoosier North opener to Knox

Knox 47, Pioneer 24 (Thursday): Makenna Strycker scored nine points, but the host Lady Panthers dropped their Hoosier North opener to Knox at The Cage Thursday.

Mia McKaig had five points and was the only other Pioneer player who had multiple field goals.

Already leading 13-9, Knox outscored Pioneer 10-0 in the second quarter to build a 23-9 lead.

Ellah Fairchild had 13 points, and Morgan Downs had 10 for Knox, who improved to 1-4, 1-0 Hoosier North.

The game was moved up from Friday to Thursday due to the success of Knox’s football team.
