Sweet, McKaig score in double figures, but Tri-County beats Pioneer on late free throw

Tri-County 43, Pioneer 42 (Jan. 3): Caleb Sweet scored a game-high 17 points, and Drew McKaig scored 12 for Pioneer in a one-point loss to Tri-County in the seventh-place game at the Indiana Kitchen Classic at Delphi on Jan. 3.

Pioneer led 19-17 at halftime, but Tri-County took a 27-25 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Connor Ross and Koby Bahler had 11 points each for Tri-County. Ross hit the game-winning free throw with 0.5 seconds left.

Pioneer point guard Brayden Erickson missed the game due to illness, according to the Pharos-Tribune.

The game was originally scheduled for Dec. 22 but postponed due to inclement weather.
