Caston 15, Oregon-Davis 0 (5 innings, Tuesday): Mia Mersch and Natalie Warner pitched a combined one-hitter for the host Lady Comets as they opened Hoosier North play with a rout of Oregon-Davis Tuesday.

The top three hitters in Caston’s lineup – Myli Rude, Alex Mersch and Kylee Logan – went a combined 9 for 10 with two walks, seven RBIs and six runs scored. Rude went 4 for 4 with three RBIs, Alex Mersch went 2 for 3 with three RBIs, and Logan went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a single and an RBI.

Ava Russell and Wrigley DeBarge each had a hit.

Warner, Audrey Ault, Russell, Abigail Apperson, Jordyn Middleton and Bella Girton each had an RBI.

Oregon-Davis pitchers walked eight and hit three batters.

Caston did not strike out.

Caston scored nine runs in the first inning and six more in the second.

Caston pitchers retired nine consecutive batters to close out the game.
