DuVall pitches 4 scoreless innings in Game 1 win

Caston 5-5, Manchester 4-4 (April 8): Pete DuVall pitched four scoreless innings, and Grant Yadon and Edison Byrum each had a hit and an RBI as the Caston baseball team beat host Manchester 5-4 in the first game of a doubleheader on April 8.
DuVall allowed four hits and two walks while striking out seven. Noah Herd earned the save, allowing three hits and four runs (one earned) in three innings. He walked two, hit a batter and struck out one.
Caleb Stinson also had an RBI. Jackson Rentschler and Herd each had a single.
Caston built a 5-1 lead going into the bottom of the sixth before hanging on.
Caston also won the second game 5-4.
Talon Zeider pitched a five-hitter with two walks and six strikeouts. Caston committed three errors which led to three unearned runs for Manchester.
Rentschler had two hits and two RBIs at the plate, and DuVall also had a single, two walks and two RBIs.
Stinson had a hit and a walk, and Byrum had a hit and a run scored.
Manchester pitchers walked six and hit two batters. Manchester also committed four errors that led to three unearned runs for Caston.
Caston trailed 3-0 after one inning but scored one run in the second and tied it in the third. Manchester took a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the fifth before Caston countered with two runs in the top of the sixth.
Neither team had an extra-base hit in the doubleheader.
