Triton rallies in 4th quarter to beat Culver girls

Jackson has 8 points, 13 rebounds for Lady Cavs in loss

Triton 30, Culver 23 (Friday): Kennedy Jackson led Culver with eight points and 13 rebounds, but Triton earned the Hoosier North home win at the Trojan Trench Friday.

Rose Peterson added five points. Grace Sieber had a team-high two assists.

Culver (7-10, 2-4 Hoosier North) held a 26-21 rebounding advantage, but Triton made more free throws (10) than Culver attempted (8).

Culver led 19-16 going into the fourth quarter, but Triton outscored Culver 14-4 in the fourth quarter.

Addyson Viers scored nine points, and Jocelynn Faulkner and Kinsey Atkins added eight each. Triton shot 22 percent from the field.

Culver is 0-4 when scoring fewer than 30 points.

This was the teams’ first matchup since Culver’s 56-48 win in last year’s sectional quarterfinals. Triton has won 10 of the last 11 meetings.

Triton also won the two-quarter JV game 19-7. Brianna Schlemmer led Culver with five points, and Elexa O’Brien had two.
