Triton wins rubber meeting vs. Culver, advances to sectional semis

Cory Hill and Zak Greer had three hits each, and Lucas Kaufman had two hits and four RBIs as the Triton baseball team topped Culver 11-4 in a Class 1A, Sectional 50 quarterfinal at South Central (Union Mills) on Thursday.
Triton improved to 4-19 and will play Oregon-Davis, who received a bye, in the semifinals at 1 p.m. Eastern Saturday. South Central (Union Mills) and LaCrosse will meet in the second semifinal at 4 p.m. Eastern.
Culver finished 2-15.
The game was tied 2-2 after three innings but Triton scored three runs in the fourth, three in the fifth and three in the sixth to grab an 11-2 lead.
Triton had 13 hits and stole nine bases.
The Trojans and Cavaliers had split two regular season meetings in Hoosier North play. Culver won at home 7-6 on May 2, but Triton won 10-0 in six innings in Bourbon on May 9.
No. 4 South Central has won a sectional the last five times the state tournament has been played.
