Valley girls roundup: Bussard scores 15, Wise adds 12 as Valley slows down Maconaquah

Girls basketball

Tippecanoe Valley 55, Maconaquah 32 (Jan. 7): Dalynne Bussard scored 15 points, and Hadley Wise added 12 for the Valley girls basketball team in a win over visiting Maconaquah at Rita Price Simpson Court Jan. 7.

Savana Miller added nine points. Miller and Wise hit two 3-pointers each.

Valley led 25-17 at halftime and extended their lead to 43-26 after three quarters.

Eight different Valley players scored.

Valley made 21 of 26 free throws.

Ireland Kile had 16, and Delaney Betzner added 10 for Maconaquah (12-3), who had their six-game winning streak snapped.

The 32 points for Maconaquah were a season low. Valley has allowed only four of their 15 opponents to score 40 or more points.

Maconaquah coach Ray Davis is a 1981 Valley grad.

Dalynne Bussard added seven points, and Betty Shepherd had six.

Valley led 27-14 at halftime and extended the lead to 37-21 after three quarters.

Valley made more free throws (12) than NorthWood attempted (nine).

Valley has won five of their last six meetings with NorthWood.

Valley improved to 10-4. The Lady Panthers fell to 6-10.

NorthWood coach Taylor Burkhart is a 2010 Valley grad.
