Valley puts 3 in double figures in sectional semifinal win over Knox

Boys basketball

Tippecanoe Valley 54, Knox 26 (March 1): Ian Cooksey hit three 3-pointers and scored 13 points while Riley Shepherd added 12 and Stephen Akase had 11 for the Vikings in a Class 3A, Sectional 18 semifinal win over Knox on March 1.

Logan Taylor and Nolan Short had six points each for Knox, who lost their sixth straight game and finished 6-16.

Valley led 24-10 at halftime and extended the lead to 48-12 after three quarters.

Valley also beat Knox 63-41 in their regular season game on Feb. 9.

Knox has not won a sectional title since 2004.

John Glenn beat Bremen 45-38 in the other semifinal.

John Glenn went on to beat Valley 35-30 on Saturday to win the sectional title.
