Cumberland leads with 20 as Vikings advance to 5th-place game

Tippecanoe Valley 74, Lowell 35 (Dec. 29): Nolan Cumberland scored a game-high 20
points to lead four players in double figures and help Valley beat Lowell in a consolation roud game at the LaPorte Tournament on Dec. 29.
Tayde Kiser hit four 3-pointers and added 18 points, Cooper Walls had 12, and Riley Shepherd added 10.
Valley hit nine 3-pointers as a team.
Valley outscored Lowell 27-10 in the second quarter to claim a 36-17 halftime lead.
This was Valley’s first win over a Class 4A team since a 61-48 win over Plymouth on Jan. 8, 2022.
Valley will play Hanover Central in the fifth-place game. Hanover Central handled Kouts 42-35 in their consolation round game.
