Valley’s Akase invited to Underclass Showcase

Tippecanoe Valley boys basketball player Stephen Akase has been invited to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/IHSAA Underclass Showcase at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis on June 28.

The showcase will be conducted in two sessions. The first will run from 11 a.m.-2:45 p.m., and the second will run from 3-6:45 p.m.

The showcase will be held during the NCAA’s “scholastic viewing period,” which allows coaches from NCAA Division I programs to attend in person.

The showcase is open to the public. Admission is $5.

In addition, Valley coach Joe Luce will be on the boys coaching staff for the event.

No area girls were invited to the girls showcase, which Ben Davis will host on June 13.

Also, the Valley boys team will participate in the IBCA/IHSAA Team Showcase Event from June 21-23 at Carmel and Westfield high schools. They will be one of 154 boys teams statewide that will be participating.

The Team Showcase is open to the public. Admission is $10 per day for adults, $5 per day for students and free for those 5 and younger.
