Valley shoots 342, takes 3rd at Manchester Invite

Parker’s 77 includes eagle on No. 11

The Tippecanoe Valley boys golf team shot a 343 and finished third out of nine teams at the Manchester Invitational at Sycamore Golf Club in North Manchester April 25.

Wes Parker led Valley with a 77 and tied for third among all golfers in the 45-player field. Nash Bouse added an 83, Kyzer Hughes had an 89, Noah Mellott had a 93, and Thad Shambaugh had a 117.

Parker’s round included an eagle on the par-5 11th hole and a birdie on the par-4 12th. He also had nine pars. Bouse birdied the par-4 ninth hole, Hughes birdied the par-4 13th hole, and Mellott birdied the par-4 third hole.

Northridge won the tournament with a 303. Fairfield was second with a 320. Northridge’s Kaden Miller shot a 68 to win medalist honors by five strokes. Miller’s round included six birdies.
