Valley sports briefs: Valley 7th-graders go 1-1 at NorthWood tourney

Boys basketball

NorthWood 53, TVMS 16 (8th grade, Saturday)

Warsaw Edgewood 45, TVMS 10 (8th grade, Saturday)

The TVMS eighth-graders lost a pair of games at the NorthWood Shootout Saturday.

DeOndre Hamilton had 10 points, and Oliver Trigg had four points and three rebounds in the loss to NorthWood in the first round.

Tristyn Ragon scored six points, and Hamilton had one point and a team-high six rebounds for the Vikings in the loss to Edgewood.

NorthWood 36, TVMS 28 (OT, 7th grade, Saturday)

TVMS 51, Lincoln 11 (7th grade, Saturday)

Grady Moriarty scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds for the TVMS seventh-graders in an overtime loss to NorthWood in the first round of the NorthWood Shootout Saturday. Landon Patrick and Isiah Ault had five points each.

The Vikings rebounded with a win over Lincoln in their second game. Gage Overbey had a team-high 15 points, and Wes Parker added 14.

Valley to open season vs. Argos Tuesday: The Valley boys basketball team will open its season with a home game against Argos at 6:15 p.m./7:45 p.m. (JV/Varsity) Tuesday.

Valley’s games against Warsaw Wednesday and Oregon-Davis this Saturday were postponed. The Warsaw game has not been rescheduled. The O-D game has been moved back to Dec. 23 as part of a girls-boys doubleheader.
