Wachtmann wins 3 blue ribbons, but Rochester falls to Plymouth

Plymouth 126, Rochester 48 (Tuesday): Freshman Tyson Wachtmann won the 50 and 100 freestyles and earned a third blue ribbon by swimming the anchor leg on the victorious 400 freestyle relay for Rochester in a home loss to Plymouth in a boys meet at the Rochester Middle School pool Tuesday.

Wachtmann’s winning times were 23.87 seconds in the 50 freestyle and 52.28 seconds in the 100 freestyle. He teamed up with Brevin Nicholson, Tanner Hamilton and Joshua Seuferer to win the 400 freestyle relay in 4:28.16.

The Rochester boys will swim next at the Warsaw sectional preliminaries at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 19.

Girls sectional preliminaries were scheduled for 5:30 p.m. tonight at Warsaw.
