Wagner, Doran, Hisey, Vance among Rochester champs at Tipton Invite

Track

The Rochester boys track team scored 98.5 points and finished second out of eight teams at the Tipton Invitational Friday.

Meanwhile, the Rochester girls track team scored 66.5 points and finished fourth out of eight.

In the girls meet, Audrey Wagner was the lone Rochester individual champion in the track events, winning the 300 meter hurdles in 47.24 seconds. McCutcheon’s Peola Brock was second in 49.04, and Brock was the only competitor within three seconds of Wagner, the Rochester school record holder in the event.

The only Rochester girl to win a field event was sophomore Kyra Doran, who won the long jump with a leap of 16-3 ½. Doran was also second in the 100 hurdles in 16.76 seconds.

Allyson Calloway was third in the 1,600 and fourth in the 800.

Rochester was also second in the 4 x 100 relay. The team consists of Doran, Wagner and freshmen Kyla Conley and Maddie Bailon.

In the boys meet, Rochester athletes won both throwing events with Xavier Vance winning the shot put with a heave of 43-8 and Mason Hisey winning the discus with a throw of 142-9.

Those from Rochester taking second included Bryce Baugher in the long jump, Harrison Dunwoody in the 110 hurdles, Owen Prater in the 400 and Grant Bailey in the 800. Senior Trevor Walley was third in the pole vault, and Liam Pinder was third in the discus.

McCutcheon won the boys meet with 137 points and the girls meet with 155.
