Wagner scores 26, leads Valley past South Central

Valley boys cancel scrimmage, postpone Warsaw, O-D games

Girls basketball

Tippecanoe Valley 51, South Central (Union Mills) 49 (Tuesday): Sidney Wagner scored 26 points, and Kaydence Mellott hit four 3-pointers and added 14 to lead the visiting Lady Vikings past Class 2A, No. 6 South Central Tuesday.

Valley hit nine 3-pointers as a team and outscored the Lady Satellites 10-1 from the foul line.

Valley led 14-2 after one quarter and led 22-19 at halftime.

Valley played without Hayley Backus, Rily Holloway and Corinna Stiles.

Valley schedule changes: The Valley girls basketball game against Fort Wayne South Side scheduled for Saturday has been canceled.

Valley has added a game with Argos to the schedule. Game time is 6 p.m./7:30 p.m. (JV/Varsity) Nov. 28 at Valley.

The Valley-Oregon-Davis girls-boys doubleheader scheduled for Nov. 28 has been moved to Dec. 23. The girls game will start at 6 p.m., and the boys game will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m.

The Valley girls game against Warsaw postponed on Friday has been rescheduled for Dec. 7. Game time is 6:15 p.m./7:45 p.m. (JV/Varsity) at Warsaw.

Boys basketball

Valley postpones first 2 games: The Valley boys basketball team has canceled its scrimmage against Delphi Saturday and postponed its first two games against Warsaw and Oregon-Davis.

The Warsaw game, which was scheduled for Nov. 25, has not been rescheduled.

The Oregon-Davis game has been rescheduled as the second game of a girls-boys doubleheader at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 23 at Valley.

Valley’s season opener is now Dec. 1 at home against Argos.

Middle school boys basketball

Warsaw Lakeview 50, TVMS 6 (8th grade, Monday)

Warsaw Lakeview 25, TVMS 14 (7th grade, Monday)

DeOndre Hamilton had four points and three rebounds, but the TVMS eighth-graders lost to Warsaw Lakeview in their season opener Monday. Jarron Evans added two points.

In the seventh grade game, TVMS lost despite Grady Moriarty’s six points and five rebounds. Wes Parker had four points, and Gage Overbey had two points and three rebounds.
