Warner gets 3 hits, but Manchester softball edges Caston

Manchester 4, Caston 3 (Tuesday): Natalie Warner had three extra-base hits – two doubles and a triple – for Caston in a home loss to Manchester Tuesday.
Mia Mersch had a single and an RBI, and Myli Rude also singles. Warner and Hadlie Coffing also had RBIs.
Warner took the loss in the circle. She allowed seven hits and four runs (all earned) in 5 ⅓ innings. She walked two and struck out seven. Mersch relieved and pitched 1 ⅔ scoreless innings. She allowed one hit.
Manchester scored twice in the fifth to take a 4-2 lead. Mersch’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth made it 4-3, but Manchester’s Molly Schanepp retired the final five batters to close the game out.
