From 0 to 60: Valley drubs North Miami
Pioneer continues streak vs. Caston; Culver earns first win; turnovers haunt Winamac in loss to LaVille

Tippecanoe Valley 60, North Miami 0 (Friday): Alex Craft ran for a touchdown, caught a touchdown pass and returned an interception for a touchdown, and Branson McBrier threw for 235 yards and four touchdowns in the first half as the visiting Vikings blanked North Miami Friday.
McBrier completed all six of his passes and threw touchdown passes to four different receivers: Craft, Rex Kirchenstien, Jacob Davis and Wade Jones. Kirchenstien’s touchdown went for 82 yards in the first quarter and gave Valley a 13-0 lead.
Craft and Hunter Eherenman tied for team-high honors with 40 yards rushing. Craft, Joel Cisneros, Gerardo Hernandez and Johnny Gonsalez each had a touchdown run.
Valley led 25-0 after one quarter and 46-0 at halftime before a running clock was instituted in the second half.
The win was Valley’s third straight over North Miami. It was their first road win over North Miami since 2015 and their first shutout of North Miami since 2007.
Austin Smith led the Warriors (1-3, 0-3 TRC) with 39 yards rushing.
Valley improved to 2-2, 2-1 TRC.

Pioneer 52, Caston 6 (Friday): Brock Robinson ran for 162 yards and three touchdowns, and the Pioneer rushing attack accumulated 338 yards in a home Hoosier North win over Caston Friday.
Cayden Hill ran for 39 yards and a score and also had 37 yards passing. Logan Smith and Wyatt Marshall also had touchdown runs.
Marshall also had two catches for 27 yards. Wyatt Zeider had a 10-yard reception.
Tyler Gaumer had four solo tackles and nine assists. Zeider took part in eight tackles.
Damian Sullivan had an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the first quarter for Caston (1-3 overall, 0-3 Hoosier North).
Sam Smith led the defense with 11 tackles, and Grant Hickle had seven tackles.
Hickle also had 45 yards rushing on 17 carries, and Smith had 24 yards on 11 attempts. Sullivan had a 4-yard reception.
Pioneer led 30-6 at halftime.
Pioneer has beaten Caston 29 consecutive times and has not lost to the Comets since 1996.

LaVille 17, Winamac 6 (Friday): Hayden Clark returned a fumble 6 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, but LaVille recorded a wire-to-wire Hoosier North road win over Winamac at Roudebush Field Friday.
Russell Compton had 83 yards passing and a team-high 38 yards rushing, but he also threw four interceptions. Winamac had five turnovers as compared to LaVille’s one.
Clark had 36 yards rushing, and Trent Fox had 34 yards on the ground.
Winamac (1-1, 0-1 Hoosier North) lost despite having twice as many first downs (12-6) and a 202-172 advantage in total offense.
Neither team scored in the second half.
Lucas Plummer threw two touchdown passes for LaVille (1-0, 1-0).
Winamac is 0-6 against LaVille since they became conference rivals in 2015.

Culver 20, West Central 6 (Friday): Shane Shuman ran for 135 yards and a touchdown, and Blake Thompson ran for 111 yards and a score for the host Cavaliers in a win over sectional rival West Central Friday.
Tucker Fisher threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to Marquez Anderson, and he also had a 38-yard completion to A.J. Cooper. Anderson also had a two-point conversion run.
Culver converted eight of 12 third down conversions and had a 287-92 advantage in rushing yards.
Hunter Evans had an interception on defense.
Culver led 12-0 at halftime.
Culver has won the last seven meetings against West Central.
