Week 6 football roundup: Randall scores game-winning TD in 4th, lifts Valley into INSC lead
Mollenkopf stars as Caston beats Culver; Rugg, Wolford star again for Winamac, but Adriano hurt in win over NM; Rine’s 5 TDs help No. 2 Pioneer stay undefeated

Tippecanoe Valley 17, Jimtown 15 (Friday): Hunter Randall scored the go-ahead
touchdown in the fourth quarter on a 2-yard run, and Owen Omondi ran for a touchdown and a two-point conversion and also kicked a 27-yard field goal for the visiting Vikings as they beat Jimtown and took over sole possession of first in the Indiana Northern State Conference Friday.
Valley had a 180-151 advantage in rushing yards. Hunter Paxton ran for 90 yards, and Omondi ran for 77 yards on 10 carries, including a 43-yard touchdown run that opened the scoring.
Randall accounted for 44 yards – 17 yards rushing, 27 yards passing.
Paxton had a 20-yard reception.
Nash Hamby ran 15 times for 127 yards for Jimtown. Nathan Guthrie ran for 30 yards and a touchdown. Cameron Inbody threw a touchdown pass to Murphy DiPiro in the third quarter that gave Jimtown their first lead at 15-11.
This marked Valley’s first ever win at Jimtown.
Valley is 3-0 in the INSC, and Jimtown, Bremen and Knox are 2-1. Valley will visit Bremen in Week 9.

Caston 42, Culver 7 (Friday): Logan Mollenopf ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns,
and London Herd, Ashton Bowyer, Landen Rigney and Braxton Enyart added touchdown runs for the visiting Comets in a rout of Culver Friday.
Herd had 32 yards rushing, Abel Lovelady had 29 yards, and Bronson Howard had 26 yards.
Bowyer and Rigney snagged two receptions each. Bowyer led with 58 yards receiving, and Rigney had 29.
Enyart and Herd had four tackles each, and Brayden Unger and Caymen Brown had three tackles each. Howard, Unger and Lovelady each recovered a fumble. Howard had two pass break-ups, and Bowyer and Brodie Howard broke up a pass. Luke Hipsher had a sack.
All the scoring occurred in the first half.
The road team has won the last three Caston-Culver games.

Winamac 20, North Miami 18 (Friday): Louis Rugg III ran for 112 yards and a touchdown, and he also had a 39-yard reception as Winamac overcame an injury to quarterback Xavier Adriano to beat host North Miami Friday.
Tearson Wolford ran 16 times for 86 yards and a touchdown, and Ivan Cardenas ran four times for 25 yards and a touchdown.
Adriano suffered a broken leg in the third quarter and left the field by ambulance. Bryant Galbreath replaced him at quarterback.
Wolford had an interception on defense, and Adriano had a fumble recovery. Adriano and Wolford had 14 tackles each. Braxton Shidler had eight tackles.
Winamac led 14-0 at halftime before North Miami rallied to take an 18-14 lead in the fourth quarter on Jension Carr’s touchdown run with 5:47 left.
Wolford’s 7-yard touchdown run with 1:20 left put Winamac ahead for good. Winamac stopped North Miami on downs at the Winamac 31 with 27 seconds left to secure the win.

Pioneer 56, South Central (Union Mills) 6 (Friday): Shiloh Rine ran for 210 yards and three touchdowns on six carries, caught two passes for 51 yards and a touchdown and had a 20-yard interception return for a touchdown as the Class 1A, No. 2 Panthers drubbed South Central Friday.
Phillip McFatridge ran for 89 yards and two touchdowns on five carries, and Colton Popejoy threw for 86 yards and a touchdown and also had a 27-yard touchdown run. Colten Long ran twice for 36 yards.
Pioneer averaged 17.8 yards per carry and 21.5 yards per completed pass.
Pioneer also held South Central to 118 yards of offense. Mason Shaver had an interception. Pioneer also had seven tackles for loss.
Pioneer led 56-0 at halftime.
Pioneer is 6-0, 4-0 Hoosier North.

Rankings update
Tippecanoe Valley is No. 14 in this week’s Class 3A USA Today media poll. Angola, who eliminated Valley in last year’s sectional, is the only other Sectional 26 team to receive recognition at No. 15.
Eastside moved up from No. 5 to No. 4 in this week’s Class 2A USA Today media poll. Bremen moved back into the top 10 at No. 10 following a 40-0 win over John Glenn. Eastside and Bremen are the only teams in Sectional to receive poll recognition.
Pioneer stayed at No. 2 in this week’s Class 1A USA Today media poll. Other Sectional 43 teams to receive recognition included Madison-Grant, who dropped from No. 7 to No. 8, and Sheridan, who is No. 11.
North Judson stayed at No. 3 in this week’s Class 1A USA Today media poll. They are the only Sectional 41 team to receive poll votes. North Judson travels to Pioneer Oct. 16 in the regular season finale.
