Winamac boys track update: Pierzchalski takes 7th in 3,200 at Valpo regional

Boys track
Winamac senior Nathan Pierzchalski finished seventh in the 3,200 meters at the Valparaiso regional Thursday in the final race of his prep career.
Pierzchalski accounted for Winamac’s two team points. Winamac finished in a tie for 28th place.
Chesterton won with 99 points.
Pierzchalski ran in the 3,200 only at the regional. His time was nearly 30 seconds faster than his sectional time.
He scratched in the 1,600 after earning a regional berth by finishing third at the Kankakee Valley sectional May 21.
Other Winamac athletes in individual events included Charles Disinger, who was ninth in the discus with a throw of 130-2 and 16th in the shot put with a throw of 39-2; and Ethan Burgess, who was 15th in the 400 in 53.76 seconds.
The Winamac 4 x 800 relay took 15th in 9:09.54.

Winamac places 3rd at Kankakee Valley sectional
Charles Disinger finished second in both the discus and shot put, and fellow seniors Nathan Pierzchalski and Ethan Burgess also qualified for the regional from the Kankakee Valley sectional May 21.
Winamac scored 61 points and finished third out of 13 teams. Kankakee Valley won with 136.75 points. Rensselaer was second with 117.75.
Disinger threw the discus 128-2 and the shot put 43-10.
Pierzchalski was second in the 3,200 in 10:23.64 and third in the 1,600 in 4:42.08. Burgess was third in the 400 in 53.54 seconds.
The only Winamac relay to advance was the 4 x 800 relay, which finished second in 8:43.91. Rensselaer won in 8:40.74.
Other scoring Winamac athletes included Logan Fredel, who was fourth in the 800; Hunter Haschel, who was fourth in the discus; and Burgess, who was seventh in the 200.
The 4 x 400 relay finished fourth.
