Winamac’s Brandt finishes 14th in discus at Crown Point regional

Winamac junior Beau Brandt finished 14th in the discus at the Crown Point regional Thursday with a top throw of 111-7.

Brandt had thrown the discus 121-11 at the Rensselaer sectional one week earlier to finish third.

Brandt was the only Winamac athlete to compete at Crown Point.

Merrillville won the regional with 86 points. Lake Central was second with 56.

The IHSAA state finals are at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis on June 4.
