4 Caston boys, 2 girls make all-conference; Pioneer’s Bowditch, Hines, Argos’ Stackhouse also make all-conference

Cross-country
Teammates Logan Fredel and Nathan Pierzchalski went 1-2 and led the Winamac boys cross-country team to the Hoosier North title at Winamac Town Park Oct. 4.
Caston was second and Pioneer was third. Argos had an incomplete team, and Culver did not have a team.
Meanwhile, Winamac’s Avery Wegner won the girls individual title in 20:48. Triton won the team title while Winamac was second, Caston third and Pioneer fourth among the four complete teams.
Argos and Culver had incomplete teams.
Fredel topped the field of 28 runners in 16:24, and Pierzchalski followed in 16:40. Paxton Moon was sixth in 18:29 and also made the all-conference team. Joel Showley was 11th in 19:29, and Braylen Becker was 13th in 20:04 and earned honorable mention status.
Caston runners making the All-Hoosier North team included Kane Finke, who was fourth in 17:53; Malakai Clayton, who was seventh in 18:33, Daulton Oaf, who was eighth in 18:34; and Jack Brumett, who was 10th in 19:14. Freshman Andrew Douglass was 12th in 19:50 and made honorable mention.
Pioneer’s Dane Bowditch and Eli Hines placed third and fifth, respectively, and made the All-Hoosier North team in 17:45 and 17:58. Freshman Braylon Jamerson took 15th in 20:06 and made honorable mention.
Argos’ Emry Stackhouse was ninth in 18:55 and made all-conference.
Wegner’s fellow senior teammate Kandace Kroft was third in 21:22 and joined her on the All-Hoosier North team. Madelyn Goodman was 13th in 23:17 and earned honorable mention.
Caston sophomore Hannah Rogers was her team’s frontrunner in 21:38 and made the All-Hoosier North team along with Camila Hernandez-Rios, who was 10th in 22:37. Myli Rude was 14th in 23:23 and earned honorable mention.
Argos senior Lexi Gibson was 15th in 23:24 and earned honorable mention.
Pioneer’s Avery Haselby was 22nd in 25:13 and was her team’s frontrunner.
All seven Triton girl runners are freshmen.
The top 10 in each race made all-conference. Those finishing between 11th and 15th places made honorable mention.
