Winamac takes 3rd at Rensselaer Invite behind Huizar

Plymouth 205, Chesterton 211, Winamac 221 (Thursday): Bianca Huizar shot a 52 to lead Winamac, but the Lady Warriors finished third in a three-way match against Plymouth and host Chesterton at Sand Creek Country Club Thursday.
Giselle Lowry added a 54, Janet Calfee had a 57, Keira Bucinski had a 58, and Olivia Link had a 70 for Winamac.
Plymouth’s Claire McDonald and Chesterton’s Paige House each shot a 48 to share medalist honors.

Winamac shoots 419, takes 3rd at Rensselaer Invite (Aug. 3): The Winamac girls golf team shot a 419 and finished third out of six complete teams at the Rensselaer Invitational at Curtis Creek Golf Course Aug. 3.
Keira Bucinski had a 97 to lead Winamac. Janet Calfee added a 101, Bianca Huizar had a 103, Giselle Lowry had a 118, and McKenzie Mitchell had a 121.
Kankakee Valley won the title with a 380. Lowell was second with a 405.
Kankakee Valley’s Brynlee DeBoard shot a 72 to earn medalist honors by 16 strokes.
